GrowBuddy

People spent more time at home during the pandemic. It has stimulated the interest in indoor gardening and houseplants. However, people returned to their busy routines after the pandemic. Maintaining these plants becomes challenging. To address this challenge, we created GrowBuddy. It is an intelligent plant care robot that automates indoor plant care. GrowBuddy is an Arduino-based robot equipped with sensors to monitor light intensity, temperature and soil moisture. It automatically relocates plants to optimal locations at home. When there is insufficient light, GrowBuddy moves the plant to a spot with better light. If the temperature is too high, it relocates the plant to a shaded area. When the soil moisture is below the set threshold, GrowBuddy finds the water feeder and re  ceives a fixed amount of water. Additionally, GrowBuddy avoids obstacles and boundaries set by users to ensure safe movement. GrowBuddy features a wall-mounted water feeder, which activates when it approaches and soil moisture drops below the preferred level. This robot is especially useful for beginners and busy individuals to take care of their plants consistently, with minimal human intervention.
