The Abyss explores the intersection of code, sound and visual art to transform stress into mindful presence, crafted during a period of academic pressure. Through the interplay of high-pitched tones, drone-like frequencies, bell resonances and phase-shifted patterns, the soundscape evolves alongside swirling, water-like blue particle systems driven by mathematic equation. As the emotional intensity rises, quotes on mindfulness subtly emerge, floating and rotating as if carried by flowing water: “You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf” and 苦海無邊,回頭是岸 (“The sea of suffering is boundless; turn back, and you will find the shore”). This work encourages viewers to embrace the present moment, observe their emotions with clarity and prioritize self-care amidst life’s turbulence.
